Empowering Youth through Design in Gaming and Entrepreneurship
Gamers Over Guns offers youths from our most vulnerable communities a powerful combination of tech, entrepreneurship and financial literacy to help them overcome hardship, level up and reach their potential as tomorrow's leaders.
Gamers Over Guns creates safe spaces for young people to express themselves through digital design in gaming, and inspires them to make positive choices at school, at home, and in their communities.
"Gun violence is the leading cause of death for US children and teens, since surpassing car accidents in 2020." --CNN, Mar 29, 2023
Launched in 2023 in New York City, the idea was conceived during a Roblox skins collection meeting that founder, Tracy Greenan was having for her digital gaming brand, AURA.
"I came across the idea during that conference from watching the evening news and seeing repeated youth gun violence.
Seeing these reports regularly is alarming and there's nothing about that should be considered, 'regular.' The fact that gun violence is now the number one cause of death in minors in the US is also a major factor in the need to try to do something to curb this growing crisis. I refuse to let this be 'the new normal.'"
Tracy formalized the program and was soon gaining interest from educators and anti-gun violence organizations.
Gamers Over Guns is ready to inspire and level-up youths everywhere.
As a biracial child of immigrants from some of the most violent parts of the world, Tracy understands the need to mentor and assist youths from under-served communities.
Tracy is also the founder of A.U.R.A., one of the first digital fashion brands in gaming. She is also Vice President of North America at republiqe, a metaverse-ready digital fashion house helping position brands and celebrities in video games.
Tracy’s innovative vision for the future of fashion has caught the attention of industry leaders and she is an active member of advisory boards and councils for select fashion tech-related projects. She is also a public speaker on fashion and innovation.
Imagine a world where every child's brilliance shines brightly – where creativity, fearlessness, and an insatiable thirst for knowledge are nurtured and celebrated. Sadly, in our most vulnerable communities, some kids miss out on the chance to realize their true potential.
It's time to empower these young minds to soar beyond the limitations imposed upon them by circumstances and systems.
That's where Gamers Over Guns steps in with a transformative vision. We wholeheartedly believe in the power of gaming, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy to ignite a fire of possibility within each student.
By merging cutting-edge technology, creativity and youth-relatable entertainment in a structured, robust curriculum, and coupling it with unwavering support, we can shape a brighter future for our next generation.

The Gamers Over Guns Four Super Powers to Level Up Lives:1. Technology
-Generative AI (artificial intelligence). Used as inspiration to create styles.
-Chat GPT (artificial intelligence). Used as inspiration to create product names and descriptions for the Roblox marketplace listings.
-Roblox Studio. Where the designs will be uploaded and officially created.
-Allows students the freedom to express their own identity.
-Provides a fun, safe way for students to 'escape' real life and define themselves online on their own terms.
3. Entrepreneurship/Business experience
-Students are responsible for their own skins 'business.' Managing their own business gives a sense of autonomy and self-direction.
-Pride and fulfillment for students: They created the vision, laid out their plan, followed the needed steps and made it happen.
-Teaches them the risk of failure (some skins may sell, some may not) and why failure is an important part of life and strengthens us to do better, building character.
-Ability to become a digital nomad: Students can continue to grow and develop their skills beyond the program and can continue creating and selling skins whenever and wherever they wish.
-Provides an opportunity to seek a cutting-edge career that aligns with their interests.
4. Financial Literacy
-Students will learn how to manage their revenue through financial literacy basics:
- Spending, saving and planning (Goal setting)
- Learning about handling debt and credit
- Investing (for example, there are players who buy skins on Roblox and resell them for profit)
Making skins on Roblox is easy!
The curriculum is based on a step by step, easy-to-follow set of video modules. Educators would play each module on a large screen, and students would follow along and implement their progress on their computers.
A professional would assist in-person at the start of the program to ensure everything flows smoothly.
Tentative module order:
1. Learning about Roblox and opportunities in Roblox Marketplace.
-Learning about pricing and 'Limiteds'.
-Learning about types of avatars, and which ones are best to sell.
-'Robux' (Roblox's currency)
-Upload fees-Commission Roblox takes from items sold on their platform.
2. Rough draft of collection creation.
-Deciding what skins to create. ie. T-Shirts, Pants, Shorts, Accessories, etc.
-Researching what sells according to favorites and bestsellers.
3. Using generative AI as a tool for design inspiration and as a guide in product description writing.
4. Implementing ideas onto a Roblox template.
5. Exporting file to Roblox Studio and submitting to Roblox Marketplace along with prices and description.
To keep students motivated, we suggest a small collection of 3-5 pieces and designing and exporting them one by one onto the platform, as it may take Roblox time to approve each design.
Note: Format may be subject to change.
